At Midsomer Norton Primary, we have a Nursery class, Sunbeams, for 2-3 year olds and a Pre-School class, Sun, for 3-4 year olds. Staff throughout the Early Years Foundation Stage from Nursery to Reception work incredibly closely to create a happy, safe, warm, friendly environment where children can explore, learn and grow and become confident active learners through play. We provide stimulating and creative activities both inside and out following the Early Years Foundation Stage Profile and ‘Development Matters’. Learning is child-led with staff responding to, and planning for, the children’s interests.

We love playing outside whatever the weather! Children love the outdoors not just for running but for climbing, balancing, problem solving and exploring the natural world. As well as our garden and outside areas, children have access to the playground, field and forest areas within the school grounds.
